Do not take Anderson Hollow road to get there. Take the main roads. Otherwise a great primitive camping experience. Bring your own water.
This is a great little hidden away place . Great for taking the family out swimming, fishing, camping, etc. Nice little beach that gradually gets deeper.
I was lucky enough to live in the Ozarks and these woods and that lake were a magical place to grow up in as a little girl. Best memories ever.
I had paid for site 6 for the 22nd and 23rd of may. Put money in drop box and posted tags to say spots were already reserved. And when we got down to the site someone had removed my tags that I reserved and paid for and refused to move to another site unspoken for. And no one answered the phone number or no employee of the park came by. We had paid/reserved for a family of 8. The people who took our tags down and only had a total of 2 people said he wasn't going to break his small tent down to another site no matter that it was previously paid and spoken for. Normally it wouldn't be a issue since my husband myself and 2 kid's have have camped here 20 plus year's. But the one time we bring guest's that have never been here it turned into a disaster. And bathrooms were dirty.. Glass broken by water. Not impressed
Love this place, but wished they had doggy bags for the dogs, and it was enforced to pick up your dogs business. It leaves this area hard to enjoy when there's so much on ground.
This place is great other than that.
