Little Lost Creek is a partially spring-fed Ozark stream, characterized by clear water and a rocky stream bed. Campers are limited to 14 consecutive days in a 30-day period. Groups of more than 10 campers need a
special-use permit.
Doing the southernmost B access area makes for a long 6 mike hike when taking into account the elevation gain (over 900 feet). Bring water if it’s a hot day. Some of the trails can be very steep and rocky which make for some unsure footing. Grassy areas abound so ticks and chiggers can be heavy in summer. However the views are pretty great and the ridgetop meadows are worth a visit.
It was a nice hike. Colors were probably gorgeous a week or so ago. But it was 67degrees and beautiful!
Beautiful hike, beautiful creek, very wet in rainy season. Boots or shoes that allow water are best. Crossing the creek 3x. Sadly the Trails across the little Lost Creek are overgrown. It’s worth the Hike from South parking Lot B walked to North parking Lot B across the creek around. The only reason why I gave it four stars is because the paths beyond the creek were very overgrown.
Nice natural area for hiking and camping. The 3 camp sites that we saw were already in use by 10 am on Friday. The hiking is moderate due to steep hills but primarily grass and road gravel surface, with multiple low level creek crossings
