In short, Old Cove offers hassle-free floating along a beautiful stretch of the Meramec River.

My husband and I rented a tandem kayak for a short float this morning, and had a great time. We were warmly greeted by the Old Cove Staff who gave us helpful directions (like waypoints to help us pace ourselves) to navigate the 4.5 mile stretch of the Meramec River. Early on a Sunday morning the river traffic was minimal. Our float was peaceful and serene, and we even saw a bald eagle with its juvenile - how neat!

We enjoyed our first visit to Old Cove Canoe and Kayak and look forward to returning, to try the longer float. Thank you for a nice morning!

Absolutely loved this float. Cold cove employees were all very nice and professional. We absolutely will be doing this float again. We did the 9.5 mile!

My partner and I floated here on 4th of July weekend and had a great experience! We took a canoe, it was clean and the staff were ready to help us launch as soon as we got off the bus! We were able to stop and fish at some awesome beaches. The river was surprisingly not crowded and the jet boats stayed away from us! I definitely recommend Old Cove.

Super friendly employees, not a far drive to be dropped in. We did the 9.5 mile kayak and it took us about 5 hours to complete with stopping 3 times. As others have mentioned, the motorboats were a bit annoying to dodge as it was hard to tell how far they were from us (but it was a holiday weekend so I’m sure we experienced higher rates of boats). There were a lot of sandbanks to be able to relax on and we loved the flow of the water and how deep it was. There were spots with slow water where we had to paddle more but we never ran into spots with super low water where we bottomed out so will take the slower water. Overall we absolutely loved the float and would do again.
