First come, first served
We had site #7, first come first serve. We were surprised to get a site on a late Saturday afternoon, but it happened! It was a very quiet night. Ample vault toilets. No showers, but lots of portable water spigots, has a pump house on site, water is cold! $20 a night, not too bad.
What a great campground! Right off highway 20. The noise isn't bad from the traffic either. The Early Winters Creek is a great spot to cool off. Great hiking trail that's right at 3 miles to do the loop if you go to cutthroat Creek. Trail needs some work through. Plenty of other hiking trails and the Washington pass over look is just right up the road.
Very nice campground. Clean and quite a few spots. Multiple bathrooms. Campsite had a decent view of Silverstar mountain. Saw a western Tanager. There is a nice and easy hike right from the campground that was cool to check out.
Wonderful camp ground. First come basis, $12/per day site charge. The campground is small yet nice and not too crowded. Bring bug spray since at certain time of the day we noticed bugs to be a lot more them other times.
Water and washroom facilities available and a campground host was available to answer any questions.
Stayed the night on the way to the gorge, beautiful drive East along HWY 20. Running water, but no threaded head for hoses could lead to difficulties filling up with water. One or two large pull through for the big rigs out there (site 2 and 23). No recycling, which leads to lots of cans and bottles on the dumpster. Signage, starting to show signs of wear…a little difficult to read when dark. Most sites have flat areas for vehicles or tents. Non-flushing toilets, but overall clean and well kept. Despite being close to the hwy, was a quiet night.
