Lazy H is the bomb! Justin and his crew worked so hard to make sure our experience at their campground was relaxing and memorable! Angie works in the office and she is on point! We have already reserved one return trip and trying to work another one in too! The concrete pad is huge, the picnic tables are comfortable and everyone enjoyed the fire pit. The beach area is large and clean with lilly pads.
There are boats and various items available for rent. We loved the time on the pontoon. This is a private lake so no fishing license required. NOTE: this is a new campground and the trees are not mature. Bring your own shade!
Lazy H Campground will make literally any other campground that you stay at seem like a dump. We just left from our first stay and cannot wait to go back. It’s a well oiled machine. They spared no details. We travel the country in our camper and are lucky to have this gem 2 hours from our home base. Keep up the great work, Lazy H!!!
This is one of the cleanest, nice camp grounds I have ever been too. The Lazy H has a lot ot offer. Rentals, deliver, and amazing food truck , activities for the kids, fishing and plenty of beach space. The restroom have heat and air and HOT water. I would definitely be back and I'm here now. I am at site 14 with my family if you have questions. My man Marcus and his wife food is the bomb. Thank for the sweet corn.
Our family of 6 stayed in Cabin #1 very comfortably. I highly recommend coming!! The beds and linens are really nice. We stayed during a heat wave and the AC did a great job keeping up. The cabin is conveniently located behind the amazing playground that even my teenagers enjoyed. The beach and lake is in front and viewable from the porch of the cabin where you can layout, float on a tube, swim, or rent one of their kayaks or paddle boards. We didn’t try the Jon boats or pontoons, but sitting under the marina during the hot days was all you needed to enjoy our favorite part, the fishing!! We were impressed that with just worms you could catch just about anything. During the evening we enjoyed the fire pit area with friends. There is a day use charge of $5 pp if friends join you during the day, but totally worth it. My family will be coming back very soon!
We needed one last campground on our way back from Yellowstone to St Louis. Googled best campground in Iowa and this was the top result. Easily checked all our boxes and then some:
- Biggest and nicest concrete pads of any campground I’ve been at
-Great fire pit and picnic table
-Sand lined lake complete with lily pads and a huge beach
- New playground that has to be the nicest of any campground in the country
Combine all these amenities with the fact that it is just 300 miles from Badlands National Park ensures that we will be back anytime we are heading west, or back home again.
