The people are nice, but lots are VERY SMALL. Most of the place seems to be taken up by residents with permanent spaces. Not much to do, no hiking trails, swimming and fishing lakes are covered over with scum, and the pool house, which is nice, is uphill from everywhere in the grounds. Explains why there are so many golf carts running around ignoring the One Way traffic signs.
It was very affordable (30some dollars a night), had an aqua park, fishing (no license needed) and swimming in the indoor pool was included in price. The site we stayed in was gravel and loved the shade trees. It was a little hard to park the RV because the road was a little close together. We didn't use their bath house. It does need updates to a few things, but nice people. We would visit again.
I brought a 20 ft camper and was placed in a pretty tight space for backing in. I was told I could come a little early on the first day since there was no one on that site. (130 for a normal 3pm check in) When I arrived at 130 on Friday Sept 15, 23, I was greeted with a very ICY and RUDE reception and told that I was in the wrong for arriving early for what was agreed to. Staff obviously did not communicate this. I was one of a group of family that visited from out of town (Columbus and Cleveland) and our other party was also greeted with rudeness and a lecture about the rules of checking in. Campground is mostly seasonal with great looking elaborately decorated sites but traveling through southern Ohio, I did not sense the southern hospitality I was expecting.
Well, another 5 days at this campground staying in one of the cabins on the lake. This is our 3rd time in 6 years. The owners were as nice as could be. The kids loved the aquatic park, the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We have been to other campgrounds and this by far is the most beautiful property of all we have been to. I thinking of just coming here twice a year from now on. Great job to the owners!!!
