This is a great camp ground in a central location to much of what the OBX has to offer. Van was very welcoming upon our arrival and helpful during our short stay.
There's not much to the campground itself, but everything you need is in walking, biking or driving distance. Most importantly, though, the beach was very short walk from our site. There is a cross walk at the beach road to a private access for campground residents.
Our RV doesn't have any slide outs so the site was a great fit for our purposes. Folks with bigger rigs might have a tight fit, but again, if you're just there for the beach and other such fun, this is a great affordable place for base camp! :) We plan to go back for future visits! :)
We will definitely be back. Kind owners. Very clean. Easy beach access.
Our family enjoyed such a great weekend at Kitty Hawk RV Park. Making a reservation was so simple and check in was so easy. We will definitely return in the future.
Awesome little campground. Owners are very helpful. They escort you to your site and will help you back in. It is tight, but hey you are a hundred yards from the beach! Our spot was about 12 to 15 feet from campside door to the other trailer spot. Not too bad and the people were very friendly. A nice hidden gem. We will return here next year for a week or two. The campground deals in cash or check, no online credit card booking so call ahead to get a spot. No bath houses so only self contained RVs can enjoy the full hook up sites.
Great little campground, right in the middle of Kitty Hawk. It is close to everything. They are right across Highway 12 from the beach, it is a short walk. Water pressure is great, in fact I had to use our pressure reducing valve. It is full hook ups. We stayed here about 4 years ago and it was great; so this time when I called to make reservations 8 months ago, I asked the lady if we could be put on the side near the beach access. She said they still had spots open and couldn't guarantee a specific site, but it wouldn't be a problem to put us on that side. When we got there, they put us almost on the other side of the campground opposite from the beach access. The spot was a great spot, probably one of the more roomy spots in the campground; it just wasn't what was agreed to. That is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, we loved the campground. We will visit again.
