We really wanted to love this family-run business, but it seems they are just going to run it into the ground. We rented the cabin and both air beds had holes in them and were unusable. We woke up to countless cockroaches and flies in the room. The A/C barely kept up. We had to clean the cabin ourselves before using it. Sitting outside, you are literally eating on the picnic table next to an above ground sewage tank. The hand soap had been empty in the men's room our entire stay, and the bathroom/shower facility had not been cleaned in God knows how long. I know it sounds like we are complaining, but the basics were just not there for us to return. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Only stayed here one night in June 2022 on our way to the Ocracoke ferry. Too bad, as this is a very pleasant campground, well laid out with many large sites. Staff was very nice. If we had returned from up north on this route we would have stayed again. This was a great spot to overnight before catching the morning ferry which is is only about 12-15 minutes away.

Would strongly discourage cyclist or tent campers from staying here. 40 dollars for a tent site without even a picnic table. Staff was friendly and washrooms were fine but its incredibly overpriced for simple camping.

Apparently reservations do not matter here because the owners are selling. We reserved in July for October and called Scott twice on our arrival day to alert him of our ETA. When we arrived, a bus was settling in on the 50 am site we reserved for our 38' fifth wheel. We were diverted to a 30 amp swampy site with a ratty picnic table and electric pole sitting in 4 inches of water.. This place is at sea level, near absolutely nothing and it floods during rains and king tides. We will never stay here again and recommend you make sure it is under new management and check reviews before selecting it.

We were here in October 2023 and it was our 3rd time. I wish they wouldn't have had to sell it.

Scott and the whole family have always been very accommodating. They called us and let us know they were experiencing the worst flooding they had seen in years. Talking to the long time leases campers they told us the same thing.

We loved this place because of its secluded area without commercial properties and crowds.
