We are a cozy, family-friendly campground in Newport, NC. Enjoy being tucked away beside the Croatan Forest and only a short drive (30 minutes) away from all the Crystal Coast beaches, 10 minutes to MCAS Cherry Point, 30 minutes to Historical New Bern and many other local attractions. Close enough to be away from it all. We offer daily, weekly and monthly sites, all with FHU's, monthly sites pay for the electric that they use during that time. We have a catch and release fishing pond, walking trails, a dog area, playground area and Wi-Fi.
Dogwood Family Campground is close to everything without being on top of it all! Kid friendly, pet friendly, and very clean! All of the lots are level making for an easy setup! This is nice because you can get to enjoying your time away from home quickly! The owners, Lisa & Shawn are very hands on with this campground making sure that everyone is comfortable and feels at home while staying here! We originally booked 3 nights and added an additional night because we weren’t quite ready for our stay to end! This place is truly a hidden gem and we will definitely be back!!!

We stayed at Dogwood family campground while in the area working for 6 mos. We could not have asked for a better place to be. The owners are some of the friendliest, hard working people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. While the summer days did get hot, most afternoons were very pleasant due to the almost constant breeze. You are centrally located and only a short drive to some of the best beaches and other wonderful attractions the area has to offer. We have 2 small dogs and there was plenty of space to walk and keep them entertained. Lisa and Shawn (owners) make you feel like family and treat your fur babies the same. The entire grounds were always kept clean and well groomed. I hope to return to the area for work in the future and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, family/pet friendly place to relax and enjoy nature for a few days or a few months this is it!!! Thanks for everything and we will be back if not for work, pleasure!!
If you're looking for absolute peace and quiet along with the best customer service then this is your place. From start to finish the courtesy and professionalism bestowed upon us was superior. I can't wait to see how this brand new RV community expands. It's clean, spacious and lots are level. A must place to put on your camping bucket list. I wanted to post pics of night time but a cloud covering hindered that from happening.
I stayed at Dogwood Family Campground for a total of 6 months. During my stay, it was clean, quiet and peaceful. Owners Shaun and Lisa are wonderful and very accommodating. When the weather was getting down to freezing, they came to my camper and fixed my water hose for me so my water did not freeze. All tenants must have a background check done prior to moving in which made me feel very safe. As a travel nurse, I will be recommending this campground to any travelers coming to this area. Dogwood Family Campground is clean, safe and affordable!
