Located alongside the North Toe River, these beautiful camping rentals make the perfect glamping escape! The 16x20 tents offer different bed and floor plans. Each tent has lighting and electrical hookup. Glampers will enjoy cozy linens and furnishings, plenty of privacy, and close access to the shared facilities on-site which include Men and Women restrooms with hot water showers. Guests can park their vehicle right behind their tent. Great for romantic weekends or a family trip! **The River Camp is situated between the Toe River and an operating railroad. There is no set schedule on when the train runs. During contruction and the time ive lived on the property it is minimal. The kids seem to love it and it hasnt become a nuisance, more of a novelty to see an old train carving through the mountains!**
So much nicer than bringing and setting up your own tent. These were fabulous! Much more spacious than the pictures show and our kids had a great time tubing and floating in front of the camp. We went with 4 other families and we never left the site.
The bathrooms were very clean and even had hot water in the shower.
These things are brand new so no complaints about cleanliness from our group.
It rained it bit while we were there and everyone stayed dry. Having the raised deck makes it nice because we can hang out and store your things underneath so they stay dry.
A quick drive up the road leads to a great drop in place for tubing or kayaking.
Great location, great concept, wonderful experience for families, truly an all around wonderful experience. Ran by some incredible people who are very passionate about their business.
This past Labor Day was our 3rd visit to Rusty's Roost River Camp with our family and group of friends. We have stayed at both locations and cannot say enough great things about our experiences. Toni was always available and super helpful with anything that we could need. We had kids ages 6 to 12 and everyone had a great time. Tubing down the river, kayaking, fishing, and relaxing. All with a fantastic view and no need to pitch a tent!! Thanks as always to Toni and Rusty for their hospitality. We will be back!!
I'll start out by saying that it is camping so I understand that mother nature plays a big part in your trip. However for $150/night i was expecting things to be a little nicer. First of all the wood stoves have all been removed from the tents so don't let the pictures on the website fool you, our little electric heaters were not nearly enough to keep us warm as the floor is very drafty. The men's bath house was very dirty, the toilets were very dirty, the one shower didn't work at all, the dividers in the bathroom are made with deck boards that have shrunk over time and now it's very easy to see right in when someone is showering or using the toilet. There was water pipes that were busted from being frozen during the winter. Also nothing in the bathrooms to dry your hands on after washing them. A few of the tents zippers were damaged so they couldn't be closed properly. The weather was terrible (which no one can control, also why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1). Overall because of the cost and bad amenities I cannot recommend this place. Toni was very friendly and wonderful to deal with though.
Outstanding experience. Toni goes above and beyond to make everyone’s stay a happy and memorable one. The tents are spacious with comfortable beds and a great view of the river. Bathrooms were clean. Even though it rained while we were there, we stayed dry while cooking on our camp stove and sitting comfortably underneath the tent structures.
