Grayson Lake state park is awesome! The lake itself is great plus the campground is really nice too! My wife and I along with friends came twice this year to camp and do some kayaking. If that's what you're into you better get down here - you'll love it! The views of tree topped rock walls that you see while kayaking in the lake are incredible! We did a long float from the Newfoundland Boat ramp down the Little Sandy River into the lake and got out at the Bruin Launch ramp. It's about 11 miles as near as we could tell by measuring it on Google Maps. It took about 5 hours of easy - moderate paddling with some breaks. The scenery is incredible! Best kayaking we've ever done! I'd highly recommend this park and that kayaking trip in particular!

We camped at the campground in site 27. Great shady spot with a pretty level driveway. The campground was pretty, near the lake and our site backed up to the hiking trails which there are only two trails. The bathrooms were clean but dated but no complaints. The campground was very quite and the reason I only gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that there is absolutely no cell service or Wi-Fi. You have to drive 12 miles into town to get any service. Was a little problematic because our son drove down to join us and we couldn’t communicate. It’s a great place to go to completely unplug. The kayaking to the grotto was super fun and gorgeous!

Stayed at site 23. Clean park, ample space, the bathrooms were clean. Two hiking trails accessible from the campground and both of which were great. We brought our kayaks and went to the grotto, although it was dry due to lack of recent rain it was still amazing. My only two complaints, absolutely zero service if you have AT&T, the camp should have some type of wifi available to accommodate for that. The only other issue is that they only have one dump station and had to wait about 40 minutes to exit. Even if you aren’t dumping, it is a single lane one way road out.

Beautiful campground, very well maintained.

Basketball court, jungle gym, slides, swings.

Restrooms were cleaned multiple times a day.

While we were out hiking grounds crew blew leaves out of our site.

Highly recommend.

This review is for the three waterfalls found on the Lick Falls overlook trail. The trail is a 1 1/2 easy path to the tops of the waterfalls. But you can barely see the main fall, Lick Falls. I would recommend getting a boat and see them from the lake. There is no paths to the base of these falls.
