We recently camped here and it was just okay. It is always nice to be by the river, but the area is not maintained. There were a lot of sticks and debris on our site, poison ivy/oak, and it was difficult to tell each campsite's number. They are very direct and strict on the rules, which comes off a little harsh on their website and marketing materials. They say "no music" but our neighbors were blasting it anyway. Lastly, we asked if we could reserve for one more night and we were told, "all the sites are pretty much booked". This was mentioned as everyone was packing up. The woman didn't even look in the spiral notebook with all the reservations. We have kayaked here before and had a good experience. The staff seems like they are college kids. Oh, and you will have to go on a hike if you want to use the restrooms, depending on your sites location.

I can't recommend this place enough! The setting is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of wildlife to see and a peaceful river to explore. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they go out of their way to make sure that every guest has a great time. The campsites are well-maintained, and the facilities are clean and modern. If you're looking for a great place to camp, look no further than Kayak Morris!

This is just a review of the camping experience. I did not kayak so can't speak to that.

Camping was terrible. The barges on the Illinois river blared their horns at all hours of the night so you'd get no sleep. The staff was extremely impatient, not to the point of rudeness but right up to the line. The declinations between the campsites are, lacking shall we say. Oh and the bathrooms are a good hike away if you get one of the eastern spots. They exist, but they're not close which can be troublesome with young kids. And the bathrooms are not sized for a parent helping a child. They are sized for one slim adult.

Honestly I'd stay elsewhere. The only redeeming factor I'd say this campground has is that it's RIGHT next to Morris so if you want anything you can hop on over there. Assuming you get it before the gate closes for the night otherwise your sunk.

Good location near to chicago. Nice camping spots for one or two nights but if you expect quality and comfort go somewhere else here you can have contact with nature. Only problem for me was road noice and after 8 boats started being noisy. campgrounds spots are very close to each others. But overall I will come back here.

Please make new spots signs numbers.

-friendly owner and staff

-check-in facility is a trailer. Only thing sold is expensive wood. Bring you own(from the local area)

-bathrooms are port-a-potties

- some sites are large and others are really small. No way to tell unless you have been before.

-some site are very overgrown with brush while others are not.

- definitely not a party place, but if you keep it respectfully the facility won’t bother you. Who your neighbor is comes down to luck and who complains. We were up late along with our neighbors and kept the noise to within our camp. No issues. If you are someone who complains over a little noise go elsewhere.

- we got super lucky and rented a great site but could have easily choose a different site that would not have been as enjoyable.

- being right on the water is the coolest part of the facility.

-because of all the boat traffic the fishing is very poor unfortunately. 6 guys fished for two days and not one bite.

-overall I’m definitely going back.
