Beautiful, well maintained park. There is canoe access points as well as camping and the pavilions area available for rent too. There several playgrounds also. We've loved having family reunions, company gatherings & school field trips here. It's definitely a hidden gem.
Nice Illinois state park, no entrance fees, nice pavilions. Trails were overgrown in parts, but the main sections were in good condition. Nice access to the river to cool off on a hot Saturday afternoon
I’ve been coming here for almost 20 years and I love this place. The campground is great and the sites are private and the hiking trails are always good.
This is one of my favorite Illinois State Parks. The camp hosts are super nice and helpful. I like staying during the week, it’s almost always practically empty. There are awesome heavily wooded and beautiful trails. The campsites are spacious, level with electric 30 amp hookup, fire pits and picnic tables. There are playgrounds, picnic areas and Ramadas in the park. Highly recommend spending a day or week here.
Nice campground with secluded sites. Small pond for fishing which has a beautiful bridge that would be excellent for pictures. Note - Only half the sites can be reserved which can make it hard to know if there are available spots when checking the website.
