Very nice park, we stayed at site 14 and tent camped. There is a trail at the back of the site that goes down the hill to the lake and there is a dock with a bench on it. It was almost like a private little spot, it was really neat. And don’t let the beavers scare you at night because there’s a whole bunch of them right next to the dock. The Veterans Memorial Park is awesome and should be viewed by all!

I love this place so much and have great memories of bringing my kids here for years. Today was so beautiful i had to take a walk around the lake for some photos, I hope you enjoy as much as I did taking them...

We stayed in the tent camping sites and thoroughly enjoyed our camping trip. The hike around the water is beautiful and a perfect length to take in all the sights. Plus - the trails are well maintained and the litter is minimal (as compared to Clinton lake recreation area, which is full of litter)

Great place to visit! Wooded trails, along the lake trails, prairie trails! Some neat historical sights too!

A great little park with a small pond. A boat launch makes it easy for putting in/taking out your small watercraft. I’ve kayaked there a couple times and it is secluded from high winds and makes for some nice wildlife-watching.

A two-or-so-mile trail sticks pretty close to the water’s edge and is easily hiked with small kids.

Overall, it’s a great place to spend a couple hours, or even longer because of the numerous campsites available.
