Great place to camp. Really enjoyed our Sling -N- Baits Tournament.
Nice campground. Showers and restrooms closed during the off season and no pit pots available.
Quiet and peaceful -but having been camping in many other states I can’t help but feel disappointed with our experience. Our lakeshore lot with a lake view was so overgrown with weeds and poison ivy that we couldn’t walk the path to see any water. This lot is supposed to have shade too. No shade other than the shelter over the picnic area but doesn’t protect from afternoon and evening sun. From 2pm through almost 9pm it was full sun. All of the swimming beaches are closed which wasn’t mentioned when making our reservation. Boating and kayaking were a plus. If you’re looking for swimming and other activities like our family had planned on, keep searching for campgrounds whose beaches are open. Also don’t try to call the main office because they won’t answer the phone. I tried calling over the course of a week at different times of day (morning, afternoon, and evening). Never once had anyone answer. I had high hopes for this place. You can see from the photo this was our lake lot and shade tree. We went back to the gate after exploring the rest of the campground and they were very accommodating and let us change lots to one that better suited our needs. It would have been helpful if there were pictures of the lots posted on the website or if they answered their phone so I could have asked questions. Overall we ended up having a good time but there are several opportunities to improve visitors’ experiences.
Lovely, quiet campground. Well maintained and clean. Great for some midweek tent camping if you need a break. Mischievous raccoons may investigate your site so be sure to keep food stowed in your vehicle.
