Take exit 47 off of I-29. Go west on Hwy 92 about 1/2 mile to East Manawa Drive. Follow East Manawa drive and you will end up at the East Entrance. Take Exit 3 from I-80. Take the South Expressway south 1 mile to Hwy 92. Go west on Hwy 92 to S. 11th St. Go south on S. 11th St to South Shore Dr. This is what we would consider the West Entrance.
Perfect place for relaxing and outdoor activity. Clear air, overlook and touch the nature.
We had a ton of fun at the beach! Only 3 dollars a person to get in, not too busy on a Sunday in August. Very nice park near the beach. Nice little spot to get food and snacks, lots of space and seating. Staff eas very friendly. Overall a great place to take the kiddos for an afternoon of beach time. We will definitely be visiting again!
The road around the Lake and through the park has a lot of repairs needed. We only spent an hour in the playground as there is no shade at high noon. I plan to return when there is some shade. We checked out the beach. At $3/person it's a steal. I definitely need to go back for the beach. You can bring in outside food and drinks and there is a snack shop with food.
If you want to walk a path, take some photos, or just relax, the lake is a place to go.
