Campers are right next to each other. There are no fire rings. The camp office was closed at 4:50 when it said opened until 5:00. We checked in at the hotel but they had no information to give about the campground. It is out priced for what it offers/it’s service. The only good thing I can say is it is convenient to Adventureland Park.
Worse campground I've ever been to! I had taken my family there years ago and it was nice, clean and pleasant. It is so run down. Looks like a nasty trailer park. It appears they let people live there in their run down rv's and don't have any rules. Junk and trash everywhere. Needed mowed and weeds were everywhere. So bad!
This place is a complete dump. You’d think with all the rules and the ridiculous prices they have, it would be a nice place. It’s got zero shade whatsoever, and they have these super weird “pull in” spots- you read that correctly. PULL IN. I originally had one of these which seemed very weird but thankfully the nice girl on the phone did admit that you can pull through onto the grass to get your vehicle out and the nice man in the office said you can pull right through to get your rig out too. Thankfully they had a last minute cancellation and he did give me one of their pull through spots which was pretty level, but you can tell that many of the spots are not level. It’s super crowded but quiet at least. I was here for a week for work so it was fine but if I had come here for a vacation I’d be extremely disappointed.
Campsites were ok, we arrived a few hours after checkins started however our site was not ready had to move several picnic tables and cement blocks off the pad. Nothing crazy but just an odd occurrence as most places we camp are good to go when you checkin. Nights were a bit tough as there was considerably more traffic than had thought there would be with it almost being at the end of the season. Also found it odd that there arent any fire pits at the sites. On the positive note it was great having the park right next to the campground. Kiddos had a blast at the park being that this was their first amusement park experience and we enjoyed exploring the Altoona area.
Campground is descent but they need more space for each camper. They don't want us to park on grass but there is not enough room for camper and truck. And they don't allow rugs placed on campsite. Other than that it's convenient too everything and they allow packages to be delivered.
