To note: the issues are so terrible I'm writing this on my second day here with my family who drove 13 hours to our annual vacation location. This was our first time renting with this company. Upon checking in by calling repeatedly we were given a code and told two televisions were broken but the issue was "actively being worked on". Three hours later as a storm cloud rolled in we cslled about it as televisions are convenient for bored kids. Jen stated she called the cable company for "hours and hours" and couldn't reach anyone and couldn't help us that first day. Finding this odd, I called Mediacom, spike spike with George right away and he stated no one called to report the issue. I called Jen back and informed her we didn't appreciate the lie (who does that?!) Then we found an INFESTATION of ants I'm the kitchen, the fridge broken, the upstairs shower and toilet seat broken, what appears to be blood stains on the cabinet, knobs missing, fingerprints all over the microwave and stove, DISGUSTING DIRTY WINDOWS, a back door that doesn't lock, stains dust and dirt everywhere and an air conditioning unit that hardly works with imstructions to not turn it below 72-75!!! We come to the cape every year and spend a lot to enjoy our time off and together. This company clearly cares as much about your experience as it does for its properties. I have never felt so ripped off or angry on a vacation. I would highly recommend looking to book through a completely different company. In closing, no one has called us back yet today. I feel like I've been robbed. Of money, of joy, of time. UPDATE: They responded to this message, sent cleaners out- they were here for less than 30 minutes. They wiped down windows, left blood? Grease, dirt everywhere else!! Had service guy for fridge say we bought too many groceries and that's why our ice cream is melting. Literally there are two things in the freezer. 18 in the fridge. For three families. We have necessities. And warm water. Warm milk. It just keeps getting better.

UPDATE: fridge guy came back and blamed the hot water and soft ice cream on our lack of patience stating we should be prepared to wait 48+ hours for cold food and beverages...well the food that doesn't spoil. The managers who were supposed to show up to meet the cable guy never did.

Just got back from a week at Second Base on Indian Pass with my two sisters. Hated it...the getting back part I mean. A very comfortable, if not fancy house with beautiful, tree framed views of St Vincent Island and the Pass. My dog quickly mastered the spiral stairs (which are very solid) and loved the white sand beach (Actually he loved the birds on the beach). Quiet, low key, relaxed. Best bed I have experienced since I retired from Westin hotels. Highlights for Indian pass include Hole In The Wall, Oyster City Brewing and Owl Cafe in Apalachicola as well as Oysterbones for the pup, Port St Joe and it's waterfront park and, of course, Indian Pass Raw Bar (went there for dinner the last night, next trip it will be for arrival night dinner! Don't miss it!) Thanks to the staff at Gulf Coast Vacations for quick response to minor maintenance issues...they are all great. Will we be back?...Hell, we wish we were still there!

I registered for a beach house through VRBO for about $3500 and received a confirmation email from them confirming the amount. Then, I received emails from this company, Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals, that contained papers for me to sign. I went through and signed everything, then noticed the charge would be about $3700.

I called Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals and a man answered, identifying himself, I believe, as Adam. I explained the situation to him and told him of the discrepancy in price. I expressed my confusion in why I thought I was doing business through VRBO but was getting documents from his company for more than $200 more.

He kept saying that the property in question was owned by his company and they rent through VRBO. I told him I understood that, but he needed to honor the amount VRBO quoted me. Instead of responding to what I was saying, he kept reiterating that they only use VRBO to rent online, but it was Gulf Coast's property. I felt like I was not being understood so I continued to make my case, that if he had a problem with VRBO he needed to handle that business, but as for our rental, the $3500 price should be honored.

Then, he actually said to me, "Would you hush so I can talk"? Then, in a very rude voice, he asked me what the charge was that his company gave me. I had just told him that at least three times. So, I said, "I just told you that when I was talking but you wanted me to shut up."

And he hung up on me.

I called back and said, "Are you kidding me right now? Did you just hang up on me"? He admitted he did. I said, "I don't think you understand the dynamic of this situation." I asked him if he was the owner of Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals and he said he was. Then he complained about my calling him and said he was cancelling my reservation.

It wasn't just the awful, unprofessional things this man said, his tone was hateful from the minute he picked up the phone. From "hello" it sounded as if my call had annoyed him or interrupted him.

This man was absolutely the most hateful, unprofessional person with whom I have ever dealt. My housecleaner was with me and heard both sides of the call because I had him on speakerphone and she was as shocked as I was.

This company is BAD NEWS. I would encourage you to consider this man's temper. This is how he behaved when I was trying to give him money. Imagine how he would behave if everything didn't go well?

Good rental company to work with. Nice home on the beach. Very clean and all the cooking items you will probably need during your stay. Been vacationing in Port Saint Joe for last 15 years. Love it there.
