From Lihue, take Hwy 56 north for about 2 miles, watching for Hanamaulu Rd on the right. Take Hanamaulu Rd to Hehi Rd and follow Hehi Rd to the beach park.
We some some locals fishing and hanging out. There's sand crabs 🦀 hiding also. Public rest room nice place to hang out.
This beach is a nice place to sunbathe,or cruise under the shady trees, having a barbecue, and some drinks. But the water isn't very clear and it is known to have bacteria and I don't recommend that you go swimming here in the river or the ocean. The water is dirty. Please stay out of the water here for ur safety and other's. God bless you and your family and Aloha.
At the end of the day, our family visited here. It's very beautiful as are all the beaches in Hawaii. You have to drive through a residential area and a windy road to get there but it's very nice.
Awesome little beach. Not busy and very quiet. It’s a reserve and I think that’s why it’s filled with crabs and mini clam shells. It’s something I don’t see at the busy beaches. What a cool find. Probably not family friendly but wow it is a peaceful spot that the critters can live. The parking lot has some sketchy people in it but they didn’t bother us.
Beautiful park and beach. The problem is that the sea is brownish and probably polluted, because of murky stream waters.
