A beautiful setting. Great for hiking, fishing and boating. Life jackets provided for swimmers in the summer and I see this is very beneficial.

Too many people believe that the shoreline is a gradual slope. Getting deeper gradually but that's not the case. In many cases there is a huge drop off 8 to 15 ft drop right off the shoreline.

That being said, respect any body of water and you will be just fine.

Trout fishing is amazing.

It is a great lake to fish and swim. There are 2 boat ramps available to launch the boat. Water is low this time of year though.

Love this place. Easy parking. There are plenty of places to see. I would suggest getting a map from the park office to see where the best spots are. The clerk at the office is very nice and helpful hence one of many reasons for my 5 star. They have people who are picking up trash during the day, so this place is quite clean. BBQ grills are more into the park, and the areas are clean and have great views. Being centronila candles for the neighborhood bugs. 2 large will suffice. Easy drive around the lake. It's definitely a place I would go again and again.

Hagg Fishing Report updated 2/24/2024

I went sat 2/24, everyone was getting skunked, except one guy said he caught one trout and it was the biggest he ever caught in the morning.

Sat feb 17 2024:

I caught a very large trout and nothing the rest of the day . it was caught midday. another guy caught a 5 pound bass.

Sat feb 10 water was really muddy, no bites but fish jumping all around.
