About Campground

**Yellowbottom will be closed to all access for the foreseeable future.**

As BLM recreation staff has inspected the campground ahead of its spring opening, they have found several potential safety hazards. BLM regrets to have to cancel all reservations for 2023, but the safety of our visitors is a top priority for us. While this is the only reservable BLM campground, Old Miner's Meadow (group campsite) may have sporadic availability and there are a few campgrounds located on the Willamette National Forest and Linn County in the vicinity. The BLM is unaware of the actual availability of sites at these campgrounds.

Directions

From Sweet Home Oregon, head east on U.S. Highway 20 and approximately one mile out of town turn left on the Quartzville Access Road heading towards Green Peter Reservoir and Quartzville Creek. Yellowbottom is located on the left side of the road approximately 24 miles up Quartzville Road.

I love to walk the creek beds. Around every corner is a new place to swim and explore. Big socks worn over shoes is a must since the rocks are slippery!

Its so beautiful . I was driving down the Quartzville corridor and for once decided to drive to the end. Right near the very end I found Yellowbottom...its like a mini beach without the waves there's lots of parking , restrooms and they have steps that go down to the water..i found my own peace of heaven here!! I love it!!! I love Yellowbottom!!

I camped there off season when it was raining. I was told that some people, not BLM or parks department, had put ruts in the shoulder of the roads and spray painted 'NO CAMPING' on the rocks to deter people from stopping or using the grounds there. It was true which I thought was over stepping their bounds. Also there were trucks that would drive by every few hours giving me the feeling of constantly being watched. Those things make for a tense visit.

Absolutely breathtaking! There are steep steps so be prepared. Best secret place ever. We picked up garbage left behind. Please keep it clean. This is as secluded and natural as it gets.
