I camped there off season when it was raining. I was told that some people, not BLM or parks department, had put ruts in the shoulder of the roads and spray painted 'NO CAMPING' on the rocks to deter people from stopping or using the grounds there. It was true which I thought was over stepping their bounds. Also there were trucks that would drive by every few hours giving me the feeling of constantly being watched. Those things make for a tense visit.
