Great place, have been camping for years but unfortunately we got a notice that we are not allowed to bring our puppy back next year (we stay during the same time every year and only for one week). We had an interaction with some woman telling us our dog is not withing our right lot. He traveled one foot into a vacant lot next to us to bark at some other dogs walking past, he is securely attached on a leash on the back of our truck. He went a bit crazy when a trailer was parking in that lot next to us. The same women came up to my elderly mother and gave her some instruction on our dog needed to stop barking. The following day, I apologized to the couple and they said there was no need for the apology, they did not have any problem with him. They ended up giving him treats for the rest of the our camping days. I took him walking around the how camp and introduced him to those who wanted to pet him. NO ISSUES!

Dogs are dogs, puppies need training and he is in that process. Our dog is a rescue 8 months Husky/German Shepherd mix.

One of the "most unique" camping experiences! Well managed, very clean, well maintained, with a staff that are extensions of the ,"core values" all campers should celebrate!! The staff ensures your safety, peace, and security. Not one complaint, can't wait to return.

Liked the bathrooms and the pier facilities but we disliked how they packed us in like sardines to make an extra buck. Your awning would touch the RV next to you. Also felt the park is anti pet when you can’t use a portable fence with your chihuahuas. When using a wagon to be push them around they still have to be leashed. A rotweller crapping by your boat trailer is ok and to leave it for others to step in seems like it’s no problem if you are a seasonal camper there. Went to insta launch after leaving and never was hassled like at this place.

They must not be interested in repeat business. My husband and I took our travel trailer for my in-laws to use. We were setting it up for them when the woman from the office drove by and told us of the rule for only 2 vehicles per site. I told her we were actually just leaving after helping them cart in some bags from their vehicles. She went from 0 to 60 at that point telling me that she remembered me from last year (I had not been to Fisherman’s Landing the previous year) and preceded to tell me they were cracking down on their rules and she had no problem having my vehicle towed.

I was baffled. My husband and I own a couple campers and rent them out to people. We spend our summers in and out of campgrounds and I can’t remember a time I was ever threatened and told to leave after driving through the gate 15 minutes prior. I understand rules but how about some understanding of people helping set up their parents (one of who uses a cane). When she drove up I honestly was expecting her to say something along the lines of “how’s it going - did you all get set up okay?” It’s not a large campground - which is the draw for my In-laws but after that confrontation they never want to reserve there again. Honestly, after that incident we decided we won’t rent our campers out to those who have reservations there.

We enjoyed our short stay at this campground. My husband and I came without the kids, and it was a nice quiet time. This campground is definitely geared towards seasonal campers and a very quiet atmosphere. I wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing a loud, boisterous group. This isn’t really a campground for kids, but they did have a nice playground. I’ve camped a lot in my life and they had the cleanest/nicest bathrooms I’ve ever seen at a campground. I also really appreciated the security codes and extra steps taken to keep the grounds safe. It’s located in a very industrial area with factories and such, but it was still quiet surprisingly. Close to downtown and Lake Michigan! Also, cannot beat the price!!!
