As I was reading through all the other reviews, I was very sad to see so many negative comments. Now, it has been about 2 years since I have camped at Crow's Nest, however, my experience was far different than the reviews I read. When I visited this camping site, it was absolutely beautiful! My campsite was cleaan, complete with a fire ring, and my site sat right alongside a peaceful, bubbling stream that lured me to sleep, I couldn't have asked for a better spot. I don't know if perhaps Crow's Nest has changed ownership, or if maybe certain areas saw more of a decline than others, but before you cross this particular campground off your list, I would suggest maybe giving it a drive through assesment. Sometimes people's idea of the ideal camping experience is ddifferent than someone else's. Buut should it turn out to not be your cup of tea, kep on traavelling, and camp on my fellow nature lovers!

Extremely run down. Trailers in disrepair strewn all over the place. Water barely had enough pressure to make it out of the faucet, certainly not enough to get anything into our tank. Pitch was so boggy that we had to lock the differential and dig 12 inch ruts to get the truck out. Can't really say anything good about the place, except that it is convenient for Catoctin Mountain NP.

It looks scarey because the trash dump is at the entrance. Very wooded lots...backs up to Cunningham Falls Park. Some are spacious and private, some are close together. It is a safe place. Many folks live there year round and are friendly. My neighbor was loud ..that was my chief complaint. The road into the campground and around the park is rough (messed up my waterpump after 3 months coming and going) and the infrastructure could all use some upgrading ...roads, electric service. The park is close to Thurmont..a lovely little town that has everuthing you need...good eats! , very nice library too.

Holy Trash (literally) this place is a public dump for trash, it looks like a homeless camp, we counted 24 stray cats just running all over, these people could not pay me to camp there. My son and I were looking for a tent campsite and drove through the crow's nest. The swimming pool has no water and is all overgrown, I give this place a -10. Horrible.

We did find a nice spot in Cunningham falls it was nice, clean and only $33.00 a night. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THE CROW'S NEST camping ground. RUN!!!!!! Don't let the pictures posted fool you.

DO NOT GO HERE. NOT SAFE.

All campers have been here forever it seems, made permanent homes here. Trash and stray cats everywhere. We were just looking for a RV dump site, we locked our doors and got out ASAP. Cars at this place were there so long, they had moss growing on them.
