I highly recommend that if you are considering booking at this hotel, you re-think your decision. I booked for one night at the end of July, gave my CC to hold the room as usual, then ended up cancelling (two weeks prior to the reservation). When I received my last CC statement, low and behold, I was charged for the room. I have made at least 5-10 phones calls asking to speak with the manager or owner. I did receive a VM saying that they would credit half the amount. Not acceptable, since I followed their protocol to cancel at least 24-48 hours prior to the reservation. I have tried calling repeatedly and no one calls me back. Obviously customer service is not a priority. BEWARE!! I have now contacted my CC company to see if they are able to dispute and get a full refund for the money. DON'T RELEASE YOUR CC NUMBER TO THIS BUSINESS UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO STAY!
Reasonable price. Clean room with microwave and fridge. Quiet. Good looking indoor pool and hot tub. Great folks running the place. They own the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad dinner or B&B train outside of Spooner too. Across the fence from Saturday Farmer's Market and RV sites next to the fairgrounds.
Have stayed here before. It's -6 outside right now. The nice thing about this place is it has an internal hallway so you don't have to freeze to death walking around outside. I love the inside and outside doors. They do have a couple of rooms you can have pets in. In the winter the campground looks wonderful. Across the street is a huge grocery store oh, a great gas station and The Spooner Family Restaurant. A great place to eat dinner or breakfast. Nice people I highly recommend this place summer or winter
I would NOT recommend this place. The room rented had no key to the pool room, ( Taken by whom ever stayed beforehand ) 80 deg. in the room and when you set the thermostat to 45 it still didn't cool down. ( Summer time ) Fireplace didn't work. A bag of syringes were found in the couch. ( They didn't CLEAN after others stayed....GROSS!! ) Rent the rooms at your own risk. Better yet, Stay at a better motel. Or a tent. Not good business for a small town.
We loved this motel! First off, the two dogs that greeted us along with the owner were super friendly and loved the attention we gave them. The place itself was very clean, quiet and had plenty of green space for our dogs to snoop. Many small, homey touches gave the rooms an up north cabin kind of feel, versus a motel. The beds/pillows were very comfortable and the fridge was good sized too. A fan in the room was a major bonus!
I highly recommend this motel if you want a quiet, comfortable night's rest and like supporting local, small businesses that are very dog friendly. We'll be back!
