The staff was not respectful and unwilling to tell any information until they get your money. Once they have money then they tell you cannot get a refund after they have charged you. The staff didn't want to show me how to find my site. Ended up asking a customer how to find it. The staff at the office had an attitude because it seemed beneath them to answer questions from an older person. The staff seemed more interested in chasing each other around. The staff had to drive their golf carts in the way while you are trying to back into your space while they look at you like it's your fault they're in your way. To pricey for the attitude. I'm glad I didn't swim in the water attractions because of attitude, how bad can the water not being maintained?
This was our first time at River's Edge and can't wait to go back!
The sites were awesome. The staff was helpful. We actually didn't fit well in the site (depth of site was great, couldn't get the slide outs extended.) They didn't have to be, but were very accommodating and gave us a different site that worked great. The grounds were immaculate. The permanent campers were very welcoming and explained how things worked and events that would be going on while we were there. They even let us leave our camper in a secure area on Sunday due to our granddaughter being in a tournament and we didn't know when we would be done for that day. They went above and beyond.
Campsite was ok. Very open. But we booked for mid September and booked a beachside elite site. Pretty expensive at about $200+ for the weekend. We were never informed that pool would be drained and closed, and Pond with inflatables would be closed as well. Temps were mid 70's. When we asked about it, the worker said that it's normal for places to close water attractions after Labor Day. We even camped the weekend prior at another place, and it was fully open *also after labor day* We are seasoned campers and are aware that some places do this. But it is always clearly stated on the website and booking info. So you can imagine our surprise when our very expensive full price site was useless to our kid. The only reason we are giving them 2 stars instead of 1, is they gave us a small credit. The difference between a standard site and the useless beach site. For that we are at least grateful. I would suggest posting this closure info on the website so there are no surprises. The staff was friendly and they have some cool activities for kids so it was not a complete waste.
Went for the Inflatables but surprised by the amenities. So overall this is a great camp to go if you have kids. There are several things from the bouncy pillow, sand play area, river area for fishing/boating, the inflatables on the lake and others. They have different themes for each weekend which is lots of fun. There was a parade of lights that happened when we were there where lots of people put lights on their golf carts or bikes. The bathrooms rooms were clean and well kept. Their gift store had almost everything you would need for camping.
I'm going to start this review with this is an awesome kid friendly family oriented campground! Great job to those that run it.
Now for why I only gave it 3 stars. It's packed its noisy there were more people than a small town. The camp store people are not very kind. Our site was horrible not a flat spot on it. Table had no level location. Chairs weren't level. Was hard to cook outside since nothing was level. Our camper almost rolled off the sight when we unhooked from the truck. It is next to the expressway so you hear the traffic noise and no easy access to the expressway in either direction. Now this was my experience. There were alot of very nice level lots. And the person with the sign that says cheapest campfire wood is the best place to get wood!
