Located in Hwy 63 to 35 east approx. 3 1/2 miles, left on Wabash, Wabash to Lake Pepin Blvd. Lake Pepin Blvd to Park St.
Landscaping could use some attention. Talked with a few people who pay a lot of money and we're saying the previous Care taker did a better job keeping up with the weeds and over all appearance of the campgrounds. All in all though a very peaceful place even with the train tracks a mile away it was relaxing!
I really liked this place. It's right on the Bay, has a boat launch and beach access. It's very low tech - cash only in a drop box. It's also pretty affordable with pricing close to State Park pricing. The camp host is super friendly and very helpful. There's definitely a feel of community, people living here seasonally or full time. There's a little swing set on site and a bigger playground down the road. It's a little loosey goosey with leash rules, which I liked, because it meant my dog could play in the water, but some people may not like that. Full hook ups was nice too. It's only 20 minutes from Red Wing if you want to do any shopping or if you forget anything.
Great place to stay. Beautiful views of the Mississippi. The campsites are a bit tight, lacking much privacy but located on a beautiful peninsula.
The picnic shelter next to the campsites has electricity (a real bonus!) and lots of tables. The bathrooms are new and clean.
If you want a shower is costs 4 quarters for 5 min.
You have to pay for your campsite in cash in a Dropbox - bring cash along!
A bit noisy at night, the campsites are located near a parking lot. Noise also echos across the lake so you can hear the trains in red wing during the night. Also many fishing/hunting boats would leave around 3am near our tents.
Bob is very friendly and helpful and will check in to make sure you have what you need! Would definitely recommend Bay City campground!
