Located near Pingree Park, this campground is situated adjacent to the South Fork Cache la Poudre River in a lodgepole pine forest setting. This campground provides a primitive camping experience in a remote location. There are ten sites, each with a picnic table and fire grate. This is an older facility and will not accommodate larger RVs. Popular activities include hiking and stream fishing.
Drive 10 miles north of Fort Collins on U.S. Highway 287.Turn left (west) onto Highway 14 and proceed 26 miles. Turn left (south) on to Pingree Park Road (County Road 63E). Drive approximately 17 miles to the campground.
Scouted this campground today and I'm heading back soon! Love it!
This is an older campground. Stayed over the weekend and absolutely loved it. Little over 50 miles from Fort Collins. Remote area, must pack in your own water. Our campsite was right next to the river. Would definitely go back to this campground.
This campground is a real gem. Of 11, there are 4 good sites directly on the river. Because it is just west of RMNP and at 9,000 feet, there are daily showers. Dress warm, the temperature drops a lot!
There has been a lot of tree remediation, leaving many sites devastated.
This is NOT a developed campground. There are no tent pads or grills.
No water, no trash, and a campground host from Jack’s gulch who is friendly and helpful.
If the signs say no fires, go down the road and talk with them. They will tell you if there is actually a fire ban or bears in the area.
This is my happy place! Please take good care of it if you go!
The campsites were large and beautiful. Unfortunately, the lack of trash pick up (the dumpster was overflowing) and pit toilet maintenance/upkeep was super disappointing.
Very nice secluded camp ground and for 16.00 a night nthat not bad ither.
