I was very disappointed in this campground. It used to be an awesome place to stay. Now it's not maintained at all. None of the campsites were mowed. Weeds and stumps everywhere. The kitchen sink wasn't working. The hummingbird wall was all grown over. Very sad because we used to camp here all the time and have sent tons of people here. Not anymore. I hope that they clean it up. It's in a great location for RMNP

Stayed at a nearby Yurt and stopped in for supplies and to talk. Very nice owner and daughter. We bought a few supplies and were pleasantly surprised they had a liquor store on site. Spent some more money in there as well! We will be back when the snow is gone to camp in their cabins.

Since the campground is no longer a KOA, this place has changed a lot! There are structures that are no longer around (for safety reasons) and there have also been a few changes to the grounds (roads are more level and smooth, unsafe structures taken down and so on). What's also nice is that you are not on top of your neighbors (with plenty of space to have some privacy). The sites can accommodate longer rigs and there is more space for your "toy" trailers too. You can see the milky way, with plentiful stars in the night sky, especially when there are no clouds in the sky. But what is really cool, is the addition of a LIQUOR STORE on the grounds! Now there isn't much need to travel 20 miles into the town of Walden, CO. They have many of the items, you may have forgotten, in their little store. My son really enjoyed their playground. The staff is very kid and pet friendly too! I really like the new staff here and hope that it will stay this way for a long time into the future.

Stayed in the tent campsites here on a holiday weekend. Really beautiful spots with easy access to the reservoir! Clean toilet, no shower, water was set up but not running. Overall a pretty standard remote camping set up. Wish we stayed longer!

Staff at the entrance was super kind. Located just 10 min drive from the visitor center which has free water bottle filling station and emergency phone available 24/7.

This camping area is technically not open yet, so I only drove through it and looked at it. But it looks to be VERY nice and well equipped for future RV campers with all back-in sights, as well as pull-through sites for the "backing-up challenged". 😂 The bathroom has toilets, sinks, and showers. I can't wait to use this facility!
