There are 29 first-come, first-served campsites that allow tents, campers, trailers, and RVs. Sites are best for tent camping due to unpaved roads, steep hills and short pull-ins. Picnic tables, fire rings, and portable toilets are provided. 14-day stay limit. There is no drinking water, electricity, hook-ups, dump stations, nor showers. A maximum of eight people are allowed per site. Although not a full-service campground, Meeker Park Overflow Campground tends to fill to capacity on weekends due to its proximity to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Longs Peak Trailhead is approximately two miles north of the campground, and the Wild Basin Trailhead is about two miles to the south. The campground is located on the west side of Colorado Highway 7 at mile-marker 11. It is approximately 10 miles north of the intersection of Colorado Highways 7 and 72 (which is 21 miles west-north-west of Lyons), 13 miles south of Estes Park, and 31 miles north of Nederland.
Great spot.parking A little tight for bigger campers\RVS.limited spots. Bear proof containers and tables big fire pit at all sites. Bring wood.tom is site host. Great guy. .nice hiking trails. Check out the rock church on the rock just mins away. Estes park is a 15 min drive away. Nice town
Do the mustang coaster and check out the river walk. Tourist info center very helpful
Wonderful and small campground in the perfect location for close proximity to Estes Park and RMNP without being too close to town. It's less than 20 minutes from Estes Park. It's only 4.2 miles to the Wild Basin Trailhead of RMNP which includes the trail to several waterfalls! The sites are generously sized and you don't feel like you are packed in with the neighbors. There's no running water, but the portable toilets are well maintained. We had site 15 and had plenty of room for 2 tents, 3 hammocks, and our car. We thought 16 looked like the perfect site, but it was taken when we arrived. There are clean and secure bear boxes at each site, as well as a fire pit and picnic table. There are also several garbage bins in the campground. This CG is also priced lower ($13/night in July 2019) than several of the other nearby campgrounds. The park host, Rebecca, was very friendly. Firewood is available for $6. Just down the road is Meeker Park Lodge where you can find a small convenience store, showers ($5 with no timer), laundry, and friendly service.
This campground is the best! Lots of sites with lots of shade and well kept. Nice little trail to the west that goes a few different ways with some great views. The host, Julie, is really nice and obviously cares about us. There were 4 porta-pottys. Some sites are kinda close together, but I don't mind. First come first serve - I got there around 1030a on a Saturday and got the 2nd to last spot.
This was exactly the kind of campground we were looking for! Nice big campsites that were not too close together. No water but they did have portable toilets that were actually really clean and well maintained! The bear locker thing was also really clean. The whole place was just perfect. We saw 3 moose while we were there and plenty of beautiful birds and one chipmunk. We walked on the path in the back a bit and it was nice too. Only $12 a night and the checkout time was not too early either. Will definitely be camping here again on our next visit!
What an amazing campground!!! The hosts are awesome and very helpful with everything including water for your fires. Port-a-potties were very clean and stocked. Even had hand sanitizer. The price here to camp and the great lots they have you can't beat! For my first time to Colorado, this campground was by far the best out of all I looked for. Only 18 mins from Estes Park and right by all the beautiful locations. Even meeker store right down the road for food, supplies and showers/laundry. Amazing views and a picnic area across the street. Will be coming here again!
