About Campground

Dutch George Campground is a lower-elevation campground located adjacent to Colorado Highway 14 and is a great place for Poudre Canyon campingIt is primarily an open flat area but there are cottonwood and ponderosa pine trees within the riparian zone of the river, providing shade to some of the campsites. This campground is well-suited for larger RVs due to the highway access, paved interior road, and longer parking spurs. There are 20 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site contains a tent pad, fire grate and picnic table. Popular activities in this area include fishing, four-wheel driving, and simply relaxing near the scenic Cache La Poudre River and Wilderness Area.

The upsides to this campground are the spots on the river and clean bathrooms. The sites are a little too close together, but it's nice to take a few steps away and sit by the water instead.

We were unfortunately disappointed at the lack of rule enforcement by the host. Sites are 8 people max. We were between a party of 16 and a party of 12. The party of 12 blared music all day and night, well past quiet hours. When they started having a water gun fight at 11pm I went to the host, who had all their lights off. The host never came and did rounds around the camp after quiet hours. I had to tell the other campsite to turn off the music and stop screaming myself. Posted pictures of the camps on both sides as proof.

Unfortunately, that was so intrusive and ruined our stay. The lack of rule enforcement means I am not willing to try here again, despite the beautiful riverside spots.

Dutch George campground is a great campground if you can snag a spot. It’s all first come first serve. When’s it’s full you can’t tell because there is 21 spots so it will never feel crowded. The river is rite there by most of the sites so easy fishing and hammock napping. Potable water. $25 a night site allows two cars . $9 for any additional car. Wood is Available at $9 a bundle. Clean vault toilets. No cell signal.

Beautiful sites right on the bank of the Poudre River. Literally the CLEANEST bathrooms I have ever seen at a campground. Friendly hosts. Firewood for sale. Will definitely come back again!

Great camping along the Poudre River Canyon. The spots are first come first serve, we are able to pull up early and snag an available site.

There are dumpsters and bathrooms (clean and tidy) every few spots as well as a water spout. Firewood was available from the camp host site for $5.

The views of the river and canyon are awesome, and there's a path that you can walk the length of the campgrounds along the water.
