Excellent site just outside Ouray. The fee station is 1 mile past Angel Creek at the next site up. Most of the areas are not -on- the river, but the river can be heard! There are two thunderpots at Angel Creek that could be emptied a bit more often. Gathering your own firewood must be encouraged because what you can purchase from the local market is a $9 bundle imported from Utah!

Great camp. Low nightly rate. Nice campground with picnic table, fire ring, tent platform with easy soil for tent stakes. Pit toilet had plenty of TP and was relatively clean. Great views!

We ended up finding this campsite after going up to Amphitheater and finding out it was completely full. The hosts told us about Angel Creek and we are so glad they did!! We were up in the loop in the back. The view of the mountains was amazing! We had quite a few tree chunks we used as furniture. The vault toilet up there was super clean. We got water in our bladders from the river down at the base of the site. There was quite a bit of ATV/Jeep/Dirtbike traffic, but once the sun went down, you couldn't hear them at all. It's so close to Ouray, like a 5 min drive. I would definitely come back to camp here!!!
