This park needs better access to the sandy swimming area. It was super muddy and slippery and at several points you literally have to walk through water and mud dense enough to suck the shoes right off your feet. Once you get to the sandy swimming area be careful because the current is so strong it has drowned people or so we were told by the park rangers.
Great place to camp , but no one came around to collect our camp fee and no envelopes for drop box for fee , stayed all weekend and no way to pay
A very nice, quiet, and affordable place to camp, with a camper or just a tent. On the Pearl River and has a boat launch! It is an alcohol free place.....which means....don't advertise that are drinking!!! It really is a good weekend get-away place!!
The wifi and cable reception is terrible. I’m not sure if the water is safe to drink. It is very slimy. We always cooked with bottled water and put a water purifier on our camper. It is extremely quite there and the mosquitoes are terrible!!
Not a bad park, as someone else mentioned it looks like most of the people there actually live there, just about all the campsites was full with trailers, nice lady was helpful when I called, do suggest calling first, it was ok for tent camping but really seems geared to RV camping. They also have tennis courts, swimming pool and a stocked pond for fishing, just watch out for the 4 foot long alagator.
