This small cove lies between Fritch Fortress and Sanford-Yake campgrounds. The area features beach camping with no individual campsites. This campground can become soft during rainy conditions. Please drive with caution when leaving paved roads. There are restrooms with potable water and flush toilets in the parking lot.
There are several different ways to get to Lake Meredith. If you are coming from Amarillo, exit Loop 335 North, then exit Hwy 136 North to Fritch. Headquarters is located at 419 E. Broadway in Fritch. If coming from the North you can take 1913 from the Dumas Highway or 1913 from US 287.
Mostly quiet, super windy at night and breezy in the day, dust was bad but I don’t think it is usually this dry.
Beautiful beach! On lake Meredith, RV camping and restroom just above the beach...
Perfect spot for the family, dog's, and paddling!
This was an awesome place where you can sit next to the water and light a campfire.
Only problem is people if you come to this place or any other camps by this lake be aware of a group of people hate to say but they are Spanish people they were blasting Spanish music through the morning on their boat by the shore on top of that they waited till everyone else that were camping there to fall asleep and take their coolers and dumped them up by the bathrooms taking what ever was inside. The vehicles they drove was a BLACK ESCALADE SUV towing with a WHITE BOAT with a RED stripe accompanied by a FIRE RED GLADIATOR JEEP with off road tires and with two older pick up truck possible silverados and a black GMC cross over possibly an ACADIA model. Please watch your stuff and lock it inside your car if possible not everyone is nice and it’s sad because it makes the Spanish group look really bad and most of us are not like this.
Cedar Canyon campground is right on the water. Drive down a sand ramp and out in the sandy beach. We didn’t stay overnight here, and we didn’t tow the 5th wheel down here, but there was one bumper pull 16-20 foot that was right at waters edge. Sand is hard pack, but I personally wouldn’t bring a big rig down here. But is a neat place to come and play.
Awesome Spot~~Spent the Day parked right Next to the Water, Beautiful.... couple of flies, non-biting..No Big Deal!...a local tarantula climbed into one of my hubcap and may still live there to this day, go ahead and check for me please and we'll find out...., but otherwise great place!
