Located 12 miles from Borger and 33 miles from Dumas. Campground is located on Hwy 152 E, across the street from the football field.
The dark sky is amazing. Saw the most stars ever that night. Lake is down low.
Worth a visit if only to look up at the night sky. I’ve never seen so many stars!
April 2019, the southern migratory
birds were arriving.
The Painted Bunting had arrived,
& sang in the morning dawn...
The wild flowers were covering the
plains of Texas. This is a grand
photo-op for birders & wildlife
photographers. ☆☆☆☆☆
Very spacious sites and clean. Grass was mowed and kept up. I will say that the sites were very uneven, but it was a good stay. The night sky was awesome and the openness was perfect. The lake was murky and very muddy on the bottom, but it was beautiful in the whole scheme of things. I would stop again, but maybe not during the middle of summer.
Had site 25. It was a little uneven from side to side. Sites are decent size. There is no privacy at all. The picnic tables are covered and look pretty cool. Bonus that they are covered more on the side the sun sets. Not bad for an overnight stay. It was very quiet and peaceful. Bathroom lights up the sky though.
