This is our second stay and we absolutely love it. The grounds are beautiful and the people are so nice. Super easy check in/out. No complaints at all :)
This motorcoach only park is very calm and clean. Our site 52 had a gazebo with a table and chairs with cushions in the shed which we made use of.
The site was large. Plenty of space around our 40 ft Allegro bus.
Very quiet campground.
One negative thing was signage getting to the park was lacking.
Will consider staying here again.
I really dislike writing bad reviews, however, this was the most bizarre and unwelcoming RV vacation we have ever experienced. We were unequivocally forced to cut our vacation short while staying at the Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort. My husband and I have been RVing for years. We currently own a 2023 THOR Omni 39’ Super C Diesel motorhome. We've been to numerous luxury RV resorts with this motorcoach, but will not return to this property. Their website and invoice state(d) that they welcomed “Super C” motorhomes. The day before the our arrival date, we received a phone call from the property manager to go over all the check-in requirements for the resort. No where in this conversation did he ask any questions about our rig or meeting any special criteria on our Super C. The website does not mention any specific rig requirements on Super C’s (at least as of September 28, 2023 it didn’t). When we arrived at the property, the property manager immediately commented that our motorcoach, “did not look large enough to be Super C”. I was rather taken aback when he made this comment, as we have been to many other luxury RV resorts, and have had quite the opposite reaction, where the employees are overwhelmingly complementary. He escorted us to our site, we were eager to settle in as we drove 3.5 hours to get there. Within 15 minutes of arriving to our site, the manager shows up again with another “resident/owner” with him, telling my husband that our rig was not a Super C motorcoach. My husband although very caught off guard was very kind to show him the THOR website that clearly classified our model as a Super C Diesel Motorhome. He also showed the manager the diesel engine chassis and the dimensions of the 39 foot Motorcoach. That seemed to suffice the manager and we continued to unpack. This definitely left us feeling rather confused and uneasy about being there, but figured it was all resolved. We did find it odd that we had several drive buys over the next 3 days from people/residents on scooters/golf carts pulling up the empty site adjacent to us, looking at our motorcoach. It wasn’t until the morning of our 4th day, the manager showed up at 8:45am and stated, “One thing I hate is to be wrong, and I was definitely wrong about your motorcoach being a Super C, see the tires are ½” shorter than what we require for Super Cs” as he measured the tires on our rig! So instead of making a collaborative decision amongst the owners to add requirements to the website going forward after we departed, they instead made the decision to send the property manager over 4 days into our trip to tell us this “news”! My husband and I were absolutely appalled! I called the manager shortly after his “morning visit” to say “we feel it will be best if we departed immediately, it’s clear we are not welcome here.” His reply, “that’s your choice”. When I asked for a refund for the last 2 days considering the UNUSUAL circumstances he said ‘that was not possible.’ He did suggest that we could move to another location to a gravel area right outside the resort, for the remaining 2 days. I am not exaggerating here, this actually occurred! After speaking with the president of the resort’s HOA, he offered us a refund for 1 of the 2 days remaining. I would like to add that we also rented a car for this entire trip, because unlike other luxury resorts, this resort was at least 30 minutes away from grocery stores, gas stations, etc. Unfortunately there seems to be “us vs them” “residents vs renters” vibe at this property. What was so ironic, was the 25+ year old Class A motorhome a few sites away from us, it couldn’t have been more than 20’ in length, and they chose to run ‘us’ out. I suggest the owner’s of this property publish a list of qualified Super Cs with requirements that they are willing to accept on their website, or better yet not accept them at all. As far as vacationing at a luxury resort in South Carolina, we will continue to visit the Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort where the staff and owners embrace their renters with welcoming open arms!
Rented a lot in LGMCR....pretty spot on LG. However, there is a property directly next to the clubhouse and they have 3, obnoxiously loud barky dogs. They bark all hours of the day and night....nonstop. One, in particular kinda screams, screeches. As the whole resort is shaped like a bowl, the barks echo throughout. Hours and hours and hours of constant barking....all hours.
