I have been camping in other sites and the bathrooms and showers here were very outdated and not clean we left a day earlier then originally planned. The pool wasn't open and notice or letting anyone know after hiking a while to the pool. Had to walk back with 4 kids who were very upset. Miniature Golf is only open for 2 hours. Canoeing and kayaking wasn't available. And to use electricity we had to get switchers at the office. Not worthwhile the time or effort to camp here. If I could have given ZERO stars I would.

Everything you want in a family friendly campground. Along the Appalachian trail, concrete water slash pad in the summer that we spent a lot of time at 🥰 we enjoyed the primitive sites with our tent and 2 toddlers

What a Great place! It is faith and family friendly in the best of possible ways. The reason for the 3 star rating is the pool. Several years in row now the pool has been a disappointment. This year the deep end was closed based on a fictitious explanation by a very unfriendly life guard. With Only 2 open hours for swimming they insisted that only one life guard would be watching while the second one just sat there. Why weren't both life guards on to allow for the deep water to be open? The reason stated was the law required one resting guard. I could not find this law anywhere. Good grief. It's a good thing the rest of the camping experience is so wonderful. Too bad the guards were so terrible because it was blazing hot.

I hope this wonderful camp will reconsider how the pool is operated. 5 star rating easy if they do.

We enjoyed our stay once again. It is a campground we have returned many times as a safe place for our children and a place they love. I understand the challenges of having an affordable campground and the challenges of updating restrooms and other amenities but as possible I would encourage this as cleanliness will be easier to maintain. Also I would encourage concrete tee pads on the disc golf course. A very fun course but as a wooded course they dry slowly and many times are dangerously slick. Thanks for considering that safety concern. Again an enjoyable time. Thank you.

Spent the weekend at Camp Swatara after 2 years of not being able to camp due to covid. Must say, after many years of camping here…even though we have a great time each time, this time everything seemed much more cleaner, trash cans were empty, more organized and up kept. We played, volleyball, basketball, kickball, softball (and even other campers joined in our games), minigolf, the kids enjoyed the splash pad, the pool even though the water was super cold, the kids used their bikes for everything, went fishing and enjoyed the campfires. Even the dog loved it! There was a small issues but all of the management team were very helpful, respectful, attentive and caring, made it important in resolving asap! One thing I would say to fix is the mosquitos and mosquitos near the lake. But this is a great and affordable camping place for families looking for quality time and weekend fun. We will be back again! We have many years of memories here!
