About Campground

Located on the beautiful shores of White Lake, Camp Clearwater is North Carolina’s largest family campground. Long considered the nation’s safest beach, White Lake’s 1,100 acres of crystal-clear water, white sandy bottom and gently sloping shores have made it a popular vacation spot for families from East Coast states, especially North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Florida.

At Camp Clearwater you will be able to enjoy White Lake’s natural beauty on our 1,300 feet of private white sandy beach or from any of our four piers. We offer a wide variety of sites to suit your Overnight, Seasonal, and Year-Round camping needs. I have always loved this place. We have a lot of memories here. Last night, we went to listen to the Camp Clearwater Band for the first time. They were awesome! Had a blast!

Camp Clearwater is a great place if you are looking for something close to the water. The grounds are well kept and the staff was very helpful and nice. My husband and I are in agreement with all the other reviews regarding the teenagers and very young kids driving around in the golf carts. We had them driving up and down the road all evening blaring music. This continued until after 11:00 pm. We even saw a little girl who if she was 8 or 9 barely able to drive the cart, by herself. I don't think this campground realizes the liability they have opened themselves in to if there is an accident with one of these young kids riding around like this. Just because the owners of the carts needs to show insurance doesn't release them from getting sued.

White lake was the perfect place to try out our kayak’s. The water is pretty with a small beach area and nice wooden swings. The campsite barely fit our 33 ft. camper and was very narrow. Luckily we did not have anyone on either side of us so it seemed like we had more room. When we go back will definitely get a premium site.

Fantastic campground! Very well maintained and clean! It's definitely one of the best we have stayed in. Super fun on the weekends with all kinds of activities for adults and kids. Was very pleased with how fun it was for the whole family! They are very family oriented! The front desk staff and maintenance staff driving around were all amazing, super nice, and helpful! The accommodations were all great as well. They had a bath house, store, food truck, and laundromat.
