The spaces were a little close together because we opted for electric, the rustic ones looked a little more spread out. In the end the kids made friends with the kids in the next spot so we were happy with it. The showers were frequently out of hot water. We showered with the kids at night and it was like a 50% chance of having no hot water. I really hope they plan on upgrading. But there was plenty for the kids to do if we wanted to just hang around the campground. That being said I would still stay there again.

My family and I had an absolutely delightful time staying here. Bathrooms/showers and recreation areas are clean, and the woman who checked us in and out was very polite and welcoming. We didn't want to leave and are definitely going to visit again in the future!

Slanted, muddy campground. Very hard to sleep when you are uneven. Also the whole place is very tight, small spaces and very hard to navigate around. No lights at all, even by the bathroom, so the place is pitch black at night. Bathrooms are clean, but stained from the hard water. Good staff though, and good location for catching a sunset at Bass Harbor lighthouse if you walk there.

Our family enjoyed a great stay in one of the cabins at Bass Harbor Campground at the end of June. We were there for five nights in cabin 5 which has a loft which the kids loved. The cabin was very nicely maintained, and very charming. We appreciated and used the microwave, mini refrigerator (there was a tiny freezer compartment in the top of the refrigerator) and coffee maker. There were plenty of electric outlets too. The campground was very pleasant, and had a family owned nature to it. The bath houses were not brand new, but we always found them clean and pleasant. The laundry room was also very nice, and to wash and dry a load of laundry cost $3.00 in quarters. There is a nice big utility sink on the side of the bathrooms for washing dishes. Each cabin and camp site has its own water spigot and we thought the water tasted very good. We loved the pool and got to use it a couple of times. It was clean and the water felt great. We also found the other campers to be very quiet and respectful.

We enjoyed walking to the lighthouse and the location near the Ship's Harbor and Wonderland trails, but the drive is at least half an hour to get to the main sites of Acadia. All in all it was a great home base for seeing Acadia and we really enjoyed our stay at Bass Harbor campground!

Very well-maintained site, our pitch had lots of space for our giant tent and our dog to roam about. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and always available when we needed them. Using the laundry was very easy and much needed. Location is great, on the quieter side of Acadia and you can walk down to the lighthouse for a beautiful sunset view. We loved being here for 4 nights and it was enjoyed by all ages!
