I want to give Papoose Pond Family campground more than 3 stars, but I cannot due to the quality of the electrical hookup at site HB17. It was a 20 amp hookup, which I knew in advance, but when I arrived I found a very rusted, non weather proof hook up box, and one of the two outlet receptacles was melted!!! I understand this is not the campgrounds fault, but rather campers overloading the outlet, but they need to either replace the 20 amp outlet or upgrade to 30 amp outlet hookups. Besides the hookups, this campground was very clean, spacious, and had plenty of activities to do including mini golf, a pool, video games, volleyball, a carrousel, and many activities. My only other complaint was they did karaoke on Friday night until almost 10:00 pm, I could hear it at my site which was across the street. Overall nice place but upgrade or replace your old electric hookups, and turn down the karaoke a bit!!!

We made the switch from another Maine campground to PPCG. The previous grounds we used were a family tradition so I was a tiny bit nervous making the plunge northward to PP. And boy, we’re we in for a week long treat!

From check in until check out a week later, we were met with the kindest and most wonderful staff we could ever meet. This was everywhere: The office, the store, the housekeepers…everyone was in top form throughout our stay. It seemed like everyone had a smile on their face enjoying what they did, and wanted to make sure we as a family had an amazing time!

The entertainment and events were awesome as well! Not too “stuffy” on the schedule, everything was spaced out as needed so you can enjoy a few things without cramping on your week.

I think I should share just two small complaints/suggestions:

#1 would be the beach condition. It’s small (it’s even said and acknowledged), but maybe a little more focus on grooming the space or adding some more sand would be nice. Still a nice little spot to enjoy the pond and the freshwater swimming!

#2: It would be beneficial to put in an actual crosswalk to the other side of the main road with some flashing pedestrian lights! I did see the stand-alone ped signs there, but this would be a decent upgrade in safety crossing the roads!

It’s no surprise we already rebooked for next year. The kids had a most wonderful time, and us as parents/adults enjoyed everything there was to offer. Please keep up the amazing work that you do and we look forward to keeping PPCG as our new family summer tradition!!

Great camp ground but they don’t post rates they change I guess? We paid 80$ a night for a site with electric and water the bathrooms/showers were old and outdated for the price we paid. Lots of activities for the kids (some at an extra fee) but overall great. Would be 5 stars easy if the bathrooms weren’t ancient and gross and small. Rec hall was super awesome site we had was giant wooded private HB 19. Will come again

We had a great week there, very clean, very friendly staff. So many things to do the kids don't have time to be bored. We stayed in a tent sight that had the stove and bathroom, site was spotless from people before us thanks to the staff. (I don't know if it was dirty but it was still spotless) Only issue we had was the power went out on our site one night after the office had closed so we called and the afterhours service answered then within 20min someone was there to fix it. I 100% recommend this campground
