Love it here. It is so peaceful and relaxing and The Happy Place for family and friends. Grounds are well kept and staff is always friendly and willing to assist with any problems. Boat access is limited, but there are several Wildlife Access points nearby. And all this is only 5 minutes from Downtown Marion!
Quiet, yet a fun place to be. Highly recommend a golf cart and a boat if you have a camper here!
Me, my husband, my best friend and her husband found this place last weekend when our friends bought a used camper. We stopped off in this campground for the weekend to test out the camper and take in the scenery. What a GREAT TIME!!! The campground was very nice. the staff were the nicest people that we ever could have asked for. One of the staff members named John brought us wood for our campfire and hung out with us. He treated us like we were family. We really enjoyed our super short trip and haven't stopped talking about it since!
We stayed Labor day weekend at one of their new overnight full hook up RV sites. Positives: Camp Staff were attentive and welcoming. Electric, water and sewer hook ups are new and adequate. New picnic table and fire ring. Full time residents that we met were friendly and welcoming.
Cons: Sites were not the natural setting we would prefer. These sites are in a large shared gravel lot. Access to Lake James is primarily boat access only, no swimming. The campground was adequate for our needs as we were gone during the day with other activities.
