Located 3 miles from Largo and 10 miles from St Petersburg. From the intersection of Hwy 60 and US Hwy 19 in Clearwater, go south on US Hwy 19 for approximately 2.6 miles and turn right onto US 19 Frontage Road. Go .3 mile and the resort entrance is on the right.
We loved our time at Avalon and would go back in a heartbeat if given the chance. The residents are wonderful and Pam in the office is absolutely one of the nicest and and helpful people you will ever meet. We made memories and friends that will truly last us a lifetime.
The lots are very tightly packed together and hard to get backed into, but we have stayed here twice before and had a very nice time, but when I tried to book a week for this winter, the guy on the phone was very curt and rude. We have two sweet, gentle, well-behaved, very socialized dogs, a black lab and a Doberman, that everyone loves that meets them. Like I said, we have stayed at this park for two week-long stays with them, and everyone was fine with our dogs, petted them, remarked how sweet they were, and suggested dog parks where they could run off-leash. We have never had a problem at any of the many campgrounds we have stayed at! Suddenly, this year, this guy would not even let me explain how sweet, gentle, and well-trained our dogs are and that we have stayed there two week-long stays before. He rudely interrupted me, almost yelling at me. Sad to say, this place must have gone from okay to crummy in the past 8 months!! :( Someone needs to train their employees with courtesy and people skills!
Very clean, well kept park. It's conveniently located to many attractions on the Gulf side. Will definitely stay again.
