I want to write this up before a I get tired, worn-out and forget. This place, which I have not been to yet and am staying there tomorrow night, has already won me over! Let me explain:
I booked the room through their website and there were a couple disclaimers about the particular room. Not a big deal. It has a 3/4 bath instead of a full bath. The room is a bit smaller than most rooms. All good. I booked online and credit card and etc etc and all fine. Then I got two confirmation emails. The second confirmation email clearly stated in red that the room had has no a/c. Well, that's not good.
I called them and explained that I did not see the no a/c on the website and the guy moved me to another room at the same price. Great. Here is the kicker: He a) recognized the website is probably wrong and b) actually thanked me for calling! We just don't get those chipper attitudes in our greedy American society much these days.
I hope the stay goes as well as the hospitality I have already received!
Fantastic hotel! We stayed in the Family Suite, and it was clean and spacious. Great price for the location as well! We will be back.
Excellent place to stay while visiting capital reef. Extremely clean rooms with everything you need. Sheets are clean and crisp. The only change I would make is to upgrade their TV . They also own a small general store and a deli and bakery that is right next door to the motel. The bakery makes homemade bread has amazing egg frittatas, burritos, all kinds of homemade breakfast every morning starting at 7:00. At 7:00. They also provide boxed lunches to take on your hike but you can custom order. Hot tub and swimming pool are extremely clean and right beside the motel. We like this place a lot better than some of the larger places. It seems updated and fresh and home like at the same time.
This is one of my favorite places I've stayed during a vacation. Chuck Wagon Lodge has so much character. It's in the tiny community of Torrey, which is the ideal place to stay when visiting Capitol Reef National Park. The Chuck Wagon Lodge grounds have a motel-style lodge, cabins and a general store with additional rooms attached. The staff was friendly and helpful with my questions when we checked in. We booked the ground-floor room on the back of the general store. It's a snug, comfortable room; the bathroom is a bit smaller, but we loved being tucked behind the store. It was convenient to step out our front door and stroll around the corner to enter the store whenever we needed to buy a meal, snack or item we forgot to pack. The Capitol Burgers food truck frequently parks in the store parking lot for dinner, which is a can't-miss meal option. A fabulously eclectic store sits across the street, which is a fun place to buy local souvenirs and view the garden statues out front.
After a long day of riding our motorcycles, we were tired and looking for a place to stay. Let me say we stumbled on this gem and were delighted with everything about it. The grounds and buildings were very well maintained. Our room was large and very comfortable. We thought the beds were super comfortable too. The staff was friendly and very nice. There was coffee available for free at the general store right next door. We loved this place and highly recommend a stay here if you are in the area. The value for the cost was very good.
