From Hwy 80 exit at Foresthill. Follow Foresthill Rd. 3.5 miles , then turn left at Lake Clementine Rd. Follow 2 miles down to the boat ramp. There is no vehicle access to the camp areas, which are accesible only by boat.
It's a great easy-moderate hike at a gradual incline. Our 2 young kids made it ok, only complained a little and ask for piggy back rides on the way back. Get an early start to avoid kids tiring out. It's about a 4 mile hike.
Take a quiet walk with Mother Nature. It will nurture your mind, body, and soul... But be careful! Rocks are very slippery 🙈
Parking: $10/vehicle

One of the most amusing dams I’ve been at. This dam is simple yet such a beautiful place. With it being not that far from the city yet far enough to get quite, it because an ideal recasting place for those who have a busy schedule. Walking up to the dam can be done in two ways. Either you can drive up or take the more exhilarating path through the hiking trail. Walking through, jogging through, or biking through. There’s enough to see for all. Bring you camera out, cause there is lots to capture. My first time I brought a drone. To capture the scenes that my eye cannot from above.
The lake is really a wide spot, behind the dam, on the American River. Steep canyon walls give lots of shade. Photos of the boat ramp. The access is very narrow and the switchbacks are very tight. There are pit toilets and no picnic or playground area visible from the boat ramp. Dogs are prohibited, even in your boat. Very close to Auburn.
Awesome! 🤩
A very beautiful and breathtaking place.🤠🫶
A large lake, a waterfall, a beautiful meandering river, a rocky shore, hills and a stunning sunset make this place incredibly romantic.🌊🏞⛰🌅🥰
You can take many beautiful photos, fly a drone, go down to the river, ride a boat and many other things you can think of.🤳🚁🚤
We walked at sunset and enjoyed the beauty and scenery of this beautiful place.☀️🌅👫
