Wildhaven Sonoma is the top-rated glamping spot in the Bay Area. Our glamping experience was designed to provide guests with comfort, warmth, and cleanliness, while still maintaining a close connection to Sonoma County’s stunning natural beauty.
Guests check in to extra-large, safari-style tent cabins with comfortable beds (with linens and heated mattress pads), electricity & heaters, WiFi, and all the furnishings needed for a memorable night outdoors. Outside the tent, guests have a personal fire pit, a covered porch with patio furniture, and a large picnic table. Those seeking more comfort and features can book tents with 2-person hammocks, festive string lights, and unobstructed views towards the Mayacamas mountains.
Then there are the amenities, which are not typically found at traditional campgrounds. These include a clean, updated bathroom building, hot showers, an outdoor kitchen with dish-washing sinks and gas BBQs, a store with local treats, and activities such as yoga classes, local wine tastings, and live music.
The highlight of the 10-acre property is the private river access for guests. Wildhaven’s section of the Russian River is calm yet clean and perfect for innertubes. Wildhaven is surrounded by vineyards on 3 sides and is in the middle of the famous Alexander Valley wine-growing region. When it's time to venture out, Wildhaven is just 5 miles from the charming small town of Healdsburg, with its picture-perfect town plaza filled with palm and redwood trees and surrounded by 30+ tasting rooms, book and cooking stores, and ice cream shops.
Unfortunately Wildhaven doesn't have space available for guests to bring RVs, trailers, or their own tents. We hope you'll consider trying out a unique night of wine country glamping with us on the Russian River!
We're located on the Healdsburg/101-side of the bridge over the Russian River, in the Alexander Valley
Our two days stay was very pleasant, as it was also our first time trying glamping. It was very cold at night but the heated mattress makes things better quickly!! The place is so beautiful and serene, although it can get pretty quiet when there’s not much people left (we prefer a busier day, so probably will pick a better higher peak days next time 😅). You can hear the cars from the main road nearby but its not a problem to us at all since we already knew about it before. We also grilled using the communal kitchen and it was so convenient! The place is well taken care off with love and hospitality, the skies are so full of stars. It was a beautiful retreat although it was cooler days so we didn’t get to swim in the river but we did visit them. It was sucha beautiful intimate retreat we were looking for and it felt very personal. I love the accessibility of places and the camp store despite it being a relaxing treat. I would 100% recommend anybody to give wildhaven glamping a try!!
We had a truly wonderful stay! We were there in November, and the tents were warm and cozy and honestly more comfortable than most hotels. All of the facilities were clean and high end, and it was an ideal location to use as our home base to explore the surrounding area. All in all, highly recommend, we'll definitely be back!
Two of us stayed in a Riverside tent on a Thursday and Friday during January. The tent was quite comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and I especially loved the bed warmer which each side can control to their liking. I was afraid of being cold but that proved not to be justified as there was also a good portable radiator in the tent.
There were very few other guests, so noise was not a problem from that standpoint, and the location is quite nice on the river with the big trees - the road noise fades after a while. The first night I did hear quite a bit of traffic in the morning so I would definitely recommend keeping your earplugs on securely, which I did the second day and had no issues. It was a fun alternative to a hotel in Healdsburg for the same price, which was our original plan, and making a bonfire at night gives it a bit of a camp feel while still sleeping in a real bed - however this is not a remote spot if you are looking for total peace and quiet - it is right on a somewhat busy two-line road.
In the morning the complimentary coffee was quite nice and the array of goodies to purchase in the little store is a much better selection than what you will find in town in Geyserville, where we stopped at both bodegas. Very friendly staff, clean bathrooms and showers, would consider staying again.
This place is such a hidden gem!! I came here for my one-year anniversary and I am not really a true camper. So, I wanted something that still had the amenities that I needed, while still being in the great outdoors! We stayed in one of their brand-new tiny cabins, and they were incredible!! Outlets, tables and a very comfortable bed!! I was so happy to have a firepit so I could just sit on the deck and relax. It will really exceeded my expectations. They also have a great little store with some essentials if you forgot any, including wines and treats! Highly recommend, we will definitely be back!!
Fun overnight! We only spent one night, but loved every minute. Hung out at the fire pit and picnic table eating and playing games, our kids jumped in the river (hot showers were great after a February cold plunge!), our dog loved being there as much as we did, and we loved the friendly staff.
