Located near the smaller Delta towns of Rio Vista, Walnut Grove, Isleton, Locke, and of course, the largest city is Sacramento which is 36 miles northeast of us. We are also a 15 minute drive from the Delta wine tasting region in Clarksburg, or 25 minutes from the Lodi wine tasting region or 60 minutes from the Napa Valley region!
From Jct of Bus 80 & Jefferson Blvd (at W. Sacramento), S 26 mi on Jefferson Blvd/State Hwy 84 (Courtland Rd) across Reyer Island bridge to Ryer Rd, E 7.4 mi to park sign, SE 0.4 mi on Snug Harbor Dr (E)
I am a Real Estate Broker in Oregon, with 30+ years under my belt. I found a cute Mini home for sale $88,00. $990.00 land rental-ok! I thought WOW, that’s cheap (From the Bay Area), The agent listed it “Snug Harbor Drive” (Not good)-lead you to believe that it is at the resort, Walnut Grove. Well, Be very careful. There is “Snug Harbor- RV park and it is in the middle of nowhere. - if you want to get away: this might be the place for you! Apparently they have 2 different fairies that run and you can reach the highway pretty quick. If they are not running, bring a sandwich. The road takes you all the way through the county, and it’s a really long drive.
My advice is, make sure that you are at the right spot when you are booking it. And be prepared to drive 15 miles to get to the park. The gentleman running the park was very nice and explained to me that The fairy is not real consistent all!!! If you are look to get away, this is the place.BTW- Bring food for the drive and be careful, it has a lot of turns. The store is limited, carry your snacks- Especially with kids. - Don’t make the mistake that I did, yes might be really disappointed.😎
We went for the labor day weekend, it was amazing. We had spot #12, the community here is great.
The new staff is wonderful, shout out to Danny for just keeping a really awesome attitude and accommodating your guests to the fullest. Though we were not able to catch a fish, we enjoyed the rain and the sunshine all weekend Long! The days are quiet and the nights are silent it's definitely one of the most peaceful sites we have come across. Thanks!
What a wonderful stay! And such a great find! A big thank you to Danny at the front desk who made our get-away possible. The house was spacious with all the amenities needed for a comfortable visit. Some small minor things could be updated, but overall it met and suited our needs. Whether you're looking for a comfortable cottage for a large group, place to land the trailer, or go camping, Snug Harbor was a welcome spot and all of us look forward to going back. The bonfire and karaoke at night made it even more special at night. It's not easy to get to due to the very limited ferry delta crossings, and once you're there, settle in, but if you're looking for fun on the water and beautiful San Joaquin River Delta vibes and views, Snug Harbor is a great place to stay! Well recommended.
My wife got us the room for my birthday because I was asked what would I like to do on my birthday I said, I want to go fishing . I was told that our room would be right on the water, if I opened the glass door the river would be right there. It wasn't like that, yes they do have some right on there and my wife was told supposedly that they were. I didn't get to fish that much because of the rain. If asked would I go back there? Heck yeah I just want to go fishing.. I give it a 5 star.
What an amazing place to spend some time. . We’re on a tour schedule, so when we have a week off snug harbor is our favorite place to unwind. It’s beautiful, quiet, clean and safe. Danny and the other folks are really helpful and accommodating, and there are a variety of spaces depending on the size of your rig. 100% recommend.
