This campsite is nestled in a grove of oak and pine trees where the Montauk Mining Company once operated. The property boasts unobstructed views across Northern California, with the Sutter Buttes, Mt. Diablo, Sierra Nevada, and Coastal Ranges in clear view.
Your journey with InTent Montauk begins by turning off the main road to our neighbor, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, and Rattlesnake Bar State Park. A private road cut into the mountain winds around the top of a gorge with unparalleled sweeping panoramic views of the region. This unpaved gravel and dirt road is passable for all vehicles, with areas available to pull over to enjoy the scenery.
Our resident "Camp Host" is a Bald Eagle that monitors the campsite activity from its lakefront nest. Keep on the lookout, you may get a glimpse of it soaring above.

From Rattlesnake Bar Road at Hwy 49:
Take Rattlesnake Bar Road for approximately 2.25 miles and turn right at the fork in the road. A sign is posted for CAMPGROUND to indicate the direction you should take.
Continue on for approximately 4.4 miles and turn right into a large gravel private road that will initially look like a parking lot to a trailhead. Proceed away from Rattlesnake Bar Road up the private road and continue onward for 2 miles following the signs to your campsite.
Super peaceful location and very comfortable tents. Great views. Lots of attention to detail, with all the tools you'll need for a good glamping experience!
Absolutely one of the best getaway destinations in California. The amenities were awesome. Short walk to the water which was absolutely amazing. They definitely paid attention to detail. I would highly recommend this to any couple looking to get away was awesome. Thank you.
Mountauk is a fantastic waterfront resort that offers paddleboarding and canoeing opportunities. The beach has a soft, pleasant feel underfoot, making it perfect for wading into the water. Additionally, the area boasts excellent mountain bike trails and numerous hiking options.
The tents at Mountauk are impressively set up, providing comfortable beds and spacious decks with propane firepits. The views of Lake Folsom from the resort are truly breathtaking. I'm definitely planning to return for more exploration, especially to check out the intriguing gold mines on the property.
Wow! What an experience. MONTAUK is an absolute dreamy camping experience. Our family of 4 rented a RV for the weekend and had the BEST time! Chris and Ann are so sweet. They go above and beyond for their guests to ensure a positive experience. The resort is breathtaking, filled with wildlife and beautiful views. We had such a good time and can’t wait to go back!
