All of the people, including the very welcoming owner, the staff, and those living full-time at the campground (we visited with one gentleman who lived in his trailer-home in that spot for 18 years!), as well as the relatively small number of camping visitors, like me, were very friendly. If you are really into fishing, then this is the place for you!! A huge lake with huge fish in it!! You can tie up your boat to a small dock just 10-20 feet from your trailer in a quiet, beautiful canal. Come and go all day! There is a very well maintained and inviting pool (not yet opened for the season while we were there). Otherwise, a boat ramp and chairs on the docks are nice. They have a restaurant available for breakfast and lunch. My only negative comment was that we reserved and paid for a spot for 3 nights. Then we had to pay an extra $25 to guarantee that our reservation would be available when we arrived! We didn't want to "risk" not having a spot to stay as we were doing multiple stops along the way. There were many other spots available. The guarantee was nonsense and just another way for a business to take more money from us without providing any service or amenity. Because of this issue and really the principle of the matter, we won't stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to others. Despite the nice, quiet, welcoming place with friendly people, that practice seemed very unfriendly and mean. Pay us extra or your "reservation" might not be available for you when you arrive... It seems like a level or type of extortion. So, if you're seriously into fishing, perhaps consider this campground (among the many locally), otherwise there are many others nearby to choose from that might be better for you.

Really disappointed that I couldn't even receive a phone call back. Was heading north and heard this place was nice so I gave them a call but got no answer. Called again got no answer. Drove there turns out the store was closed I guess that's the main office cuz I didn't see any signage on where to check in for the RV Park area. Waited for about an hour after making a third call and leaving a message. I am now in Virginia that was 2 days ago and still haven't gotten a call. I don't know what's going on the place is beautiful but whoever's running that must be sick in the hospital or just doesn't give a.......

This is a nice place to stay. We just stayed 7/21/23 & 7/22/23 and are already considering going back. However, I almost avoided booking a campsite due to the fact that when booking a "reservation", you are prompted to pay a $25 "site lock" fee to ensure that you get the campsite that you are already "reserving". I was very upset that they would want to force you to have to pay that $25 fee in order to ensure that you get the site that you've already picked out and are "reserving". It really does not make any sense and it also makes the business look bad to the customer, which is a shame since it is such and nice place. We will probably return, but I'm not sure how many times we will be coming back since they want to charge that bogus fee. They do make it an optional fee, but when someone is going to be pulling a camper 1.5 to 2 hours to a location to stay, they naturally want to make sure that the site that they picked out is where they are actually going to be staying. Seems like management realizes this and are using it as an opportunity to put the fee option out there in order to scare people into paying more money while making their reservation. It worked. I paid it. Very reluctantly and very unhappily. Honestly, I hated to even have to include this issue in the review, but it really is unfair to your customers and others need to know this info before making their reservation . It would be 5 stars if it hadn't been for the fee.

we really enjoyed camping here! beautiful sunrises and sunsets, good people.

and the food at the restaurant is amazing! The bbq is smoked on site ( when we arrived we witnessed 200 pounds of butt on the smoker!) and we had several meals here and all were good!

Kitchen closes at 2:00 pm so only breakfast and lunch.

And the staff. they are the best!

Our campsite was right on the water and it looks like they are installing small decks/boat tie ups at every site on the water.

Would be great if you have a boat and like freshwater fishing!
