From I-77: Take Hwy 97 or Hwy 9 to the town of Chester. The park is located on Hwy 72. 2 mi W. of town.
Haven't been to this park in many years. It really is a quite beautiful area around the lake. The shelters and chairs look like theyve just recently been added/updated, and the trail across the bridge was perfect to take the kids on a short hike. Didn't have time to check out the disc golf course but it looks like another fun activity to enjoy during a visit. Will definitely come back with the canoe or some kayaks and paddle around a bit.
You will find beauty and peace in this state park. The walking trail is easy. No steep climbs. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery. They also provide shelters and grills. Go and enjoy the day at the park.
A true hidden gem! I love this park. It's beautiful and well maintained. Very clean with many sheltered benches/tables and swings. A 2 mile walking path around the lake. Very peaceful with low noise due to the fact only electric motor boats allowed. The Ranger and his staff are very friendly and hospitable.
