My family completed a White Water rafting trip down the South Fork of the American River. We had an absolute blast. The water was high and fast, we had a 13 and 15 year old in the raft and everyone stayed in the raft as we hit every large wave for 3 plus hours. I would highly recommend the professional crew that operates American River Resort and Whit Water Adventures to anyone with an upbeat and adveturistc attitude.

Great location for rafting, very good view near the river, and very clean facilities. Note the camp sites have no water nearby which is quite inconvenient. But it's free for people sign up for rafting so I guess I can't complain ;)

Camp site was great, just smaller than we're used to. The view was amazing! Swimming pool was way cold for me but the child liked it. No water at the spicket which was a huge bummer to have to fill up from a hose at the register for dishes and for the dogs. But overall great location

Campsite is nice, but be cautious as some sites are not level (82). Tent camping, RV there are river platforms, there are beautiful sites on the river. River is amazing, and the resort has spots where you can walk near the rivers edge. Fishing pond exists, but I would guesting if it were stocked. It is unkept, overgrown, and murky. Check the temperature on your visit dares as it can be quite hot, 110 for us and that was too much. Resort bathrooms are kept very clean with great clean showers. Members of my group went rafting and thought it was amazing. Pet friendly, but again, check the weather. Small Cafe in walking distance for a sandwich or coffee or sorbet. State park close as well. Staff there are great and friendly.

We typically stay in the River Cabins. Each cabin has a full/queen bed, roll away single, and pull out couch. The pull out is variable depending on if they have a good mattress. The other beds are comfortable. They ha e minimal kitchen supplies. Grill on the deck. Super fun location. Pool on property also if the river is too fast for you. River rafting right from the resort.
